I have begun my preparations by worrying. About Internet connections, About phone communication, About how far is it to the office, about electrical hookups, about laundry, how to get around, where are things, where is a wine merchant, can I drink the water?
I have them all resolved.
Electrical - Same as UK. I have a converter and a type D adapter.
Internet. - the Hotel has complimentary Wireless Internet.
Phone - My colleagues and BEST BUY both said buy a prepaid Cell Phone when I get there.
Office - 2.5 Kilometers - Taxi if necessary - Not too far to walk though.
Get Around - Great Subways for distance - walking otherwise
Where are things - I have MAPS
The water is fine but there is a wine shop around the corner from the hotel. (Pan Pacific Singapore hotel if you happen to be in town)

Singapore - Prep Day T-12
I have been given an assignment in Singapore. I am travelling from the cold, snowy Michigan climate to the Equatorial Singapore on Jan 11. The trip will take about 2 days but I'm lucky in that the client will pay for business class. I have decided to venture into the BLOG world for this trip as it is a halfway around the planet and it may be entertaining for my Wife and the Grand-Kids.
